Electing Arizona Energy Leaders

Arizona stands at the center of America’s energy future

With unparalleled solar resources and growing demand for reliable, affordable power - our state has an enormous opportunity to lead. Arizona Power PAC is a bipartisan political action committee dedicated to electing state and local officials who recognize this opportunity. It’s time for our leaders to advance local energy solutions that protect our wallets and water.

Energy independence

Grow our economy & strengthen our security by producing more power at home

Expand investment in Arizona-based energy sources like solar, wind, geothermal and storage to reduce reliance on out-of-state fuel.

Support policies that deliver reliable, affordable energy for families and businesses while investing in local economies.

Energy innovation

Leverage our resources and build next generation energy solutions

Accelerate research, development and commercialization of clean energy technologies in Arizona universities and laboratories.

Position Arizona as a hub for clean manufacturing and innovation by modernizing infrastructure and updating regulatory frameworks.

Energy & water leadership

Lead the nation in smart water & energy policy that unlocks growth

Prioritize policies that significantly reduce water consumption for power generation and protect our most limited resource, water.

Promote long-term planning that supports growth, economic resilience and water security for generations to come.

Elected utility regulators like the Salt River Project (SRP) Board and Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) determine our monthly power bills and our energy choices.

Salt River Project

SRP is a public power company providing water and power to over 1 million Arizona businesses and families. The SRP District Board sets your monthly power bill and is elected by landowners and homeowners in their service territory. Recently, the SRP District Board has:

Raised prices 5 times in 5 years, totaling a 23% increase

Punished rooftop solar owners with higher fees

Polluted our air with dirty power plants

It’s time to elect new leaders who say NO to higher bills, invest in clean energy, and protect our water future!

Arizona Corporation Commission

The Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) regulates all investor-owned gas, electric and water utilities. The five commissioners vote on proposed rate increases and major infrastructure projects like power plants. All five commissioners are elected statewide and serve four-year terms.

The ACC is out of touch! For decades, Republicans have controlled the commission and allowed greedy corporations to raise prices, add junk fees, and undermine our water and energy security. Meanwhile we, the ratepayers they’re elected to defend, have seen our bills get so expensive that we’re struggling to make ends meet.

The ACC is choosing utility corporations over you!

The commission has a long history of being in the pocket of major utility providers. From the dark money scandal of the early 2010’s1 to the recent ethics investigation after a commissioner met privately with the same Wall Street companies he’s supposed to regulate.2

What’s more? Despite recommendations from the Residential Utility Consumer Office (RUCO), a state agency that represents the interest of consumers, the ACC voted this year for:

9.4% revenue hike for Southwest Gas

153% hike for APS Fuel Reimbursements

15% junk fee for APS rooftop solar owners

9.55% rate hike that will cost TEP residential customers an average of $132 more a year on their monthly bills3
